Dillan Melchiore of Cumberlands (Ky.) was named the 2024 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Melchiore, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.95, won the 5000-meter race walk at the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from Cumberlands has been named National Scholar Athlete of the Year in outdoor track & field. Melchiore has won two National Scholar Athlete of the Year awards including the indoor track honor this year.
