Eric Gregory, Gallaudet: 2022 NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year

Eric Gregory was named the National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Gregory, who hails from Metairie, Louisiana, capped a remarkable season at the 2022 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where he scored 16 points with a victory in the 400 meters and a third-place finish in the 200 meters. His time in the 200 of 20.60 lowered the all-time world best for a deaf athlete, a mark that he originally set earlier in the season when he set the since-broken NCAA DIII record of 20.62. All told, Gregory owns the third- and fourth-fastest marks in NCAA DIII history in the 200. During the regular season, Gregory scored 32.5 points at the CSAC Outdoor Championships with a clean sweep of the sprints (100-200-400) and a carry on the winning 4×100 relay.
