
Jerod Elcock was named the National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season. Elcock, who hails from Caroni, Trinidad and Tobago, scored 20.5 points at NJCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas. He won the 200 meters in a wind-aided 20.45, finished runner-up in the 100 in a wind-aided 10.03 and helped Butler (Kan.) CC win the 4×100 relay. Elcock also scored 20.5 points at the NJCAA Region VI Championships, winning the 100, taking runner-up honors in the 200 and aiding the Grizzlies’ title-winning 4×100 relay. He was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week twice during the regular season (March 22 and May 10).
