Jonah McHaffie was named the National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. McHaffie, a freshman, scored 20½ points in track events at the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Troy, New York. He swept the steeplechase (9:47.14) and 5000 meters (16:01.55), as well as helped the Cougars to an eighth-place finish in the 4×800. McHaffie entered the postseason ranked among the top-4 seasonal performers in both the 5000 (No. 3, 16:22.46) and 10,000 (No. 4, 35:02.95).
