Juliana Sakat of Iowa Western CC was named the 2025 NJCAA Division I Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Sakat, who maintained a term GPA of 3.4, won three events – the 1500 meters, 3000 meters and 5000 meters – and anchored the third-place 4×800 relay team at the 2025 NJCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This is the second time in program history that a female athlete from Iowa Western has been named National Scholar Athlete of the Year in outdoor track & field. Jazmyn James was named National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year in 2023.
