Juliana Sakat of Iowa Western CC was named the 2025 NJCAA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Sakat, who maintained a term GPA of 3.4, won four events – the 1000 meters, mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters – and anchored the runner-up distance medley relay team at the 2025 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. This is the third time in program history that a female athlete from Iowa Western has been named National Scholar Athlete of the Year in indoor track & field. Mercy Honesty is Co-National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year and Ethel Amissah earned National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year honors last year.
