Kenneth Wei was named the NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Wei, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.9, won the 110-meter hurdles title at the 2022 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which was part of a historic double (Wei also won the long jump and while that doesn’t count toward the selection of this award, it merits acknowledgement – as it was the first such double in meet history). This is the first time that an athlete from MIT has been named National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year for the outdoor season.
