Marcus Weaver was named the National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Weaver, who hails from Lewiston, Minnesota, swept the decathlon and javelin for the second year in a row at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Before last year, it hadn’t been done in NCAA DIII history; now, Weaver has done it twice. Weaver’s total of 7486 in the decathlon just missed his PR score of 7510. During the regular season, Weaver won the decathlon at the WIAC Outdoor Championships by more than 600 points and was crowned javelin champion at the prestigious Drake Relays.
