Olin Hacker was named the NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Hacker, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.0, won the 5000 meters at the 2022 NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 13:27.73, as the top-3 finishes all crossed the finish line within one second of each other. This is the first time that an athlete from Wisconsin has been named the National Scholar Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year (Morgan McDonald snagged the indoor honor three years ago in 2019).
