Patrick Dever was named the NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Dever, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.80, won the 10,000 meters in meet-record fashion at the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. This is the first time that a Tulsa athlete has been named Men’s Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year (Chris O’Hare took home the Men’s Indoor Scholar Athlete of the Year honor in 2012).
