Robert Cervanka was named the National Men’s Coach of the Year for the 2022 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Cervanka, in his tenth year at Dupage (Ill.), led the Chaps to the national title as they scored 118½ points at the NJCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Troy, New York. DuPage scored in 16 different events to win the crown. During the regular season, the Chaps headlined the National TFRI three times (Week 3, Week 5, Week 6) and entered the NJCAA postseason ranked second according to the formula.
