Turner Washington was named the NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year. Washington, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.83, won the shot put title at the 2022 NCAA DI Indoor Track & Field Championships with a heave of 21.65m (71-0½), one of the farthest marks in meet history. This is the second year in a row that Washington has been named National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year for the indoor season.
