Turner Washington was named the NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year. Washington, who maintained a perfect cumulative GPA of 4.0, won the shot put at the 2021 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is the fourth time in program history that an Arizona State athlete has been named NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year (Ryan Whiting in both 2008 and 2010; Jason Lewis in 2009).
