Convention Update: Exclusive Event for Female Coaches
NEW ORLEANS – Continuing a tradition from years past, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) will once again feature a program exclusively for the female coaches attending its USTFCCCA Convention in San Antonio, Texas, this December.
Any female coach registered for the Convention is invited to take part in a special three-hour event at 3pm CT on Monday, December 14 designed to give attendees the opportunity to share perspectives and experiences relating to the challenges women face in the coaching profession.
Please note that the event takes place the day prior to the official December 15 start of the Convention at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa.
Unlike programs in years past that have featured panel presentations and professional speakers, this year’s program will be driven by collaborative group discussion.
The larger overall group will be broken out into smaller discussion groups to consider focused topics including “Coaching Male Athletes and Breaking Down Stereotypes” and “The Importance of Networking in Career Advancement”.
This format gives attendees the opportunity to engage with their peers to ask critical questions, listen to real-life experiences, and have meaningful dialogue regarding the challenges faced by women in the coaching ranks through the lens of professional development.
Following the breakout sessions, the attendees come back together into the larger overall group for the opportunity to weave together each breakout session’s focused conversations into broader roundtable discussions moderated by facilitators.
