Scholar Athletes of the Year were selected as the highest finishing performers at the NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships who achieved All-Academic status. Those who won individual championship titles ranked higher in the tie-breaking process and cumulative GPA is weighed as the final tiebreaker.
Separate awards are given to track athletes and field athletes for the indoor and outdoor season for a total of four categories, but Regan swept both track awards, giving us three.
Regan, a senior majoring in Engineering Management, earned a GPA of 3.837. The native of Green Brook, New Jersey is the first athlete from Stevens to be named the Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year and Outdoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year. Regan simply dominated the DIII distance scene this season, sweeping both the indoor (3000/5000) and outdoor distance titles (5000/10000), posting an average margin of victory by 15 seconds.
Winters, a senior majoring in Creative Writing, maintained a GPA of 3.479. The native of Stow, Ohio is the first from Baldwin Wallace to be named Indoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. Winters helped guide the Yellow Jackets to a national title thanks to a strong performance in all of her events, especially the long jump (5.95m or 19-6¼) and high jump (1.69m or 5-6½), where she placed first and fourth, respectively.
Glueck, a sophomore whose major is undeclared, had a perfect 4.00 GPA this year. The native of Pekin, Illinois is the first woman from IWU to be named Outdoor Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. Glueck’s winning effort in the long jump (6.02m or 19-9) gave the Titans 10 big points as they won the national title.
