NJCAA DIII XC All-America2016 NJCAA DIII All-Americans Announced for Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS – All-America awards for the 2016 NJCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Awards were earned by the top 15 finishers in the men’s and women’s races in Canadaigua, New York, this past Saturday. Notably, the men’s race was impacted by an error on the course that resulted in the late-race leaders taking an incorrect turn and consequently finishing outside All-America honors.
Harper College swept both the men’s and women’s national team titles, and also claimed the most All-America honors for both genders.
The national champion men doubled up the rest of the field with four honorees, including third-place Ryan Ziolkowski. Runner-up Suffolk CC and fifth-place Ocean County CC were next on the list with two, each.
Harper’s women, led by individual national champion Ali Gutt, also collected four All-America honors to lead all teams. The Hawks earned twice as many awards as any other team in the field, with runner-up Columbus State CC, third-place Howard CC and fifth-place Herkimer County CC garnering two apiece.
