The only movement in the men’s top-10 came at the bottom, where Hinds (Miss.) CC traded the 10th spot to Coffeyville (Kan.) CC, who was 9th a week ago.

The same could be said on the women’s side, where Monroe (N.Y.) and Mesa (Ariz.) CC both moved up 1 spot each to 7th and 9th, respectively, dropping Western Texas and Coffeyville (Kan.) CC to 8th and 10th, respectively.

Iowa Central CC held down the top spot on the men’s side after a strong performance from Sterling Mungro in the hammer throw this past weekend at the Musco Twilight. The sophomore recorded the top mark in all of NJCAA Division I at 63.01m (206-9). Teammate Odaine Lewis also recorded the nation’s best triple jump mark of 15.73m (51-7¼) at the same meet.

South Plains (Texas), Barton (Kan.) CC, Butler (Kan.) CC and Paradise Valley (Ariz.) CC round out the top-5 on the men’s side.

Two New Mexico JC women posted top-10 NJCAA Division I descending order list marks for the Thunderbirds at the UTEP Invitational last weekend, allowing the program to remain in 1st for the 3rd-consecutive week. Teresha Jacobs’s altitude-converted 4:43.38 in the 1500 meters ranks 5th in the country, while Brittany Hew’s altitude-converted 11.60 100 meter time sits 8th.

Iowa Central CC, South Plains (Texas), Central Arizona and Iowa Western CC sit 2nd-5th, respectively, in the women’s rankings.

Iowa Western CC’s men’s team made a 4-spot leap in the rankings, marking the largest climb on the week on either side. The Reivers moved to a new season-best 12th after its 4×800 relay squad ran the 6h-best time in the country at 7:55.26 during the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic last weekend.

On the women’s side, Vincennes (Ind.) tied for the week’s biggest jump from 14th to 11th for the program’s best regular-season ranking since the opening week of last year. Anais Da Silva ran the 2nd-best 10000 meters time on the year (31:53.51) at the Indiana Little State Championships last weekend, while Merica Valdez cleared 3.70m (12-1½) in the pole vault for the 2nd-best mark on the year. Jamesha Western also notched the 8th-best marks in the discus throw (44.22m/145-1) and the hammer throw (47.23/154-11).

The Johnson County (Kan.) women also moved up 3 spots to 24th, cracking the top-25 for the 1st time on the season. Lexi Pint’s 39.21m (128-8) at the Kansas Relays last week ranks 8th on the NJCAA Division I descending order list.

The 2017 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Hutchinson, Kansas, on May 14-16. Check back at www.USTFCCCA.org each week throughout the season for updated rankings.
