

2018 NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll – Week 1
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City takes the first regular season No. 1 ranking in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, released Wednesday by the NAIA National Office.
This is the second week in a row that the Stars have been the top-ranked team.
OCU captured 17 of 20 possible first-place votes. Columbia (Mo.) nabbed two first-place votes of their own and come in at No. 2, while Madonna (Mich.) snagged the lone remaining first-place vote and are ranked No. 8.
Southern Oregon, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and College of Idaho round out the top-5 at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
The 2018 NAIA Cross Country Championships will be held November 16 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 1999):
- After being ranked at No. 3 in the 2017 postseason poll, Oklahoma City has captured the No. 1 rank in the 2018 preseason and first regular-season poll.
- Oklahoma City opened their 2018 season at the Western Oklahoma Showcase and finished second out of six teams.
- Southern Oregon holds the record for the most No. 1 rankings with 34 all time.
- Southern Oregon also holds the record for the longest active streak of being in the Top 25 with 92 straight appearances, dating back to 2008.
