Iowa Central CC remained a strong No. 1 in the ratings, nearly doubling up its closest pursuer. The Tritons now have three national leaders with Awet Johannes (800 meters) joining Courtney Lindsey (60) and Kelvin Bungei (5000). Johannes (1000 and 5000) and Bungei (mile) are also No. 2 in other events, as Dee Brown’s squad looks for its fourth national title in the past five years.
Barton (Kan.) CC holds on to the No. 2 position and has two athletes who collectively own the national lead in three events – Shakwon Coke (long jump and triple jump) and Davonte Burnett (200). The Cougars also have the No. 2 spot in four events – Burnett (60), Phillip Lemonious (60 hurdles), Phillippe Barnett (wight throw) and the 4 x 400 relay.
At No. 3 is South Plains (Texas), and the Texans – who took last weekend off – still have the most national leaders with Moitalel Mpoke (400 and 600), Romaine Beckford (high jump) and the 4 x 400 relay.
Moving up three spots to No. 4 is Cloud County (Kan.) CC. The T-Birds have two national leaders in Santino Kenyi (1000) and Courtney Lawrence (shot put).
Finishing off the top-5 is Coffeyville (Kan.) CC. Leading the Red Ravens are two athletes ranked No. 2 – Will Jones (long jump) and Moustafa Fall (shot put).
Completing the top-10 are No. 6 New Mexico JC, No. 7 Monroe-New Rochelle (N.Y.), No. 8 Vincennes (Ind.), No. 9 Butler (Kan.) CC and No. 10 Hutchinson (Kan.) CC.
