

2020 NJCAA DI Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – There have been a few changes to the NJCAA Division I Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll after the first few weeks of the 2020 season.
Iowa Central CC remains the unanimous No. 1, hauling in all seven first-place votes from the coaches, while Hutchinson (Kan.) CC and Iowa Western CC follow at No. 2 and No. 3 with Butler (Kan.) CC and New Mexico JC locked in a tie at No. 4.

The Tritons posted a victory this past weekend at the Morningside Open. Kelvin Bungei led the charge for Iowa Central CC as he posted his third consecutive individual victory. Bungei was one of three Tritons to finish in the top-10 as they scored 31 points to top Doane (Neb.), 31-40.
The Blue Dragons jumped one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 this week following a strong outing at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational hosted by Bethel (Kan.). Teagan Flanagan paved the way for Hutchinson CC as the team put three runners in the top-20. The Blue Dragons finished runner-up in the team standings to NJCAA Division II program Allen (Kan.) CC.
The Reivers held steady at No. 3 after posting a third-place effort at the Morningside Open. Yonas Mogos ran exceptionally well for Iowa Western CC, finishing second individually.
As stated before, the Grizzlies and T-Birds both hold down the No. 4 ranking. Butler (Kan.) CC recently competed at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational, finishing third as a team. New Mexico JC has yet to compete this season and its schedule is blank on its website.
