Cross Country Polls & Rankings
Allen (Kan.) CC ran incredibly well on its home course, putting its entire scoring lineup inside the top-10. With the Red Devils putting up 32 points, they easily handled business against a pair of top-5 ranked teams from NJCAA Division I – Butler (Kan.) CC and Hutchinson (Kan.) CC.
Former No. 1 Cowley (Kan.) CC fell one spot to No. 2, but to no fault of its own. The Tigers have looked strong in their only effort this season, a runner-up finish at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic to begin the season on September 4.
North Iowa Area CC held steady at No. 3 for the second week in a row. The Trojans last competed at the Southwestern Spartan Classic, which they won. NIACC is schedule to compete again this weekend at its own Trent Smith Invitational on Friday.
Daytona State (Fla.) jumped three spots from No. 7 to No. 4 in Week 3. The Falcons posted a big effort at the Florida State Invitational this past weekend, finishing fifth in the open race packed with four-year programs and took down an NCAA Division I team in the process.
Wallace State (Ala.) didn’t move from No. 5 between Week 2 and Week 3. The Lions recently won the Topper Trails Classic this past weekend thanks to putting three runners in the top-5.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams: No. 6 Heartland (Ill.) CC, No. 7 Hawkeye (Iowa) CC, No. 8 Grand Rapids (Mich.) CC, No. 9 Lake Sumter (Fla.) State and No. 9 Metropolitan (Mo.) CC.
