NAIA OTF National Athletes of the Week (April 13)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Here are the NAIA Men’s & Women’s Track & Field National Athletes of the Week, as released on Wednesday afternoon by the NAIA National Office.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Joseph Taylor, Southeastern (Fla.)

Taylor broke three school records in four track events. He matched the No. 1 time in the NAIA in the 100 (10.36), the second best time in the 200 (20.98) and as part of the the 4×100 relay team that got the baton around in 40.59.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Conner Tordrsen, Dakota State (S.D.)

Tordrsen threw another NAIA A standard in the discus by reaching 49.27m (161-8), which would be the third-farthest throw in DSU history, if not for his school record earlier this year. He’s ranked second in the NAIA and first in the NSAA. Tordrsen also was only 12cm short of his DSU school record in the hammer, qualifying for nationals in another event by throwing 56.39m (185-0). He’s currently ranked ninth in the NAIA and first in the NSAA in the hammer throw.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Jaqual Busy, Southeastern (Fla.)

Bush posted the third-fastest time in the NAIA in both the 100 (11.78) and the 200 (23.72) on Saturday.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Madison Green, Grand View (Iowa)

Green won the hammer throw at the Concordia Invite with a NAIA automatic national qualifying mark of 55.34m (181-7) which currently ranks No. 1 in the Heart and No. 2 in NAIA. She also placed second in the shot put with a NAIA B standard mark of 13.47m (44-2½) currently the No. 2 mark in the Heart and the 13th best mark in NAIA.
