

2023 NJCAA DIII Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 6
NEW ORLEANS – Three changes in the top-5 provided excitement in the Week 6 edition of the 2023 NJCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track & Field Rating Index, which was released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Only marks from the 2023 indoor and outdoor track & field seasons have been used in this objective compilation. This is final national TFRI of the year as the 2023 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships run next Thursday-Saturday at Mohawk Valley (N.Y.) CC in Utica, New York.

While No. 1 Harper (Ill.) will be seeking its first title in this meet since 2011, the Hawks have been consistently in the running – last year’s fourth-place finish was their sixth time in the top-4 in their last six times competing since 2015. Harper has an incredible eight national-leading marks, with Lilly Alberts having a pair in the 400 (57.47) and 800 (2:12.42) and being a prominent member of the 4×100 (50.49), 4×400 (4:02.92) and 4×800 (9:37.14) which also top the lists. Other national leaders for the Hawks are Fiona Metzo in the 1500 (4:52.38), Samira Rosenfeld in the high jump (1.57m/5-1¾) and Arianna Teichman in the hammer throw (38.90m/127-8). Metzo and Rosenfeld are defending national champs in their events, with Metzo also adding the 800 title from last year.
Moving up two spots to No. 2 is Joliet (Ill.) JC in the first year of having a women’s program. The Wolves have a national No. 2 in javelin thrower Katelyn Ceska (27.59m/90-6¼) and also feature a pair second-rated relays (4×100 at 51.34 and 4×400 at 4:17.10).
The Land of Lincoln has a sweep of the top-3 in the TFRI with two-time defending champ College of DuPage (Ill.) sliding to No. 3. The Chaps – who also won titles in 2000-02 and ’04 – have two national leaders in Lillan Buzani in the 5000 (18:47.03) and Patrycja Karpiesiuk in the pole vault (2.82m/9-3).
Suffolk County (N.Y.) CC drops to No. 4. The Sharks – fifth last year after winning team crowns in 2016 and ’19 – have the nation’s top shot putter in Morgan Keuler (11.45m/37-6¾).
No. 5 Mineral Area (Mo.) was third last year after a runner-up finish in 2021. The Cardinals have two national leaders in Riley Petsch in the 10,000 (43:30.68) and Emma Gerstner in the triple jump (11.04m/36-2¾).
Completing the top-10 teams in the National TFRI are No. 6 SUNY Broome CC, No. 7 Camden County (N.J.), No. 8 RCSJ Gloucester (N.J.), No. 9 Herkimer County (N.Y.) CC and No. 10 Mohawk Valley (N.Y.) CC. SUNY Broome has one national-leading mark.
