2024 NCAA DIII Outdoor T&F Championships Most Outstanding Performers
NEW ORLEANS – Outstanding Performers of the Championships from the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships were announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Men’s honors went to Sam Blaskowski of UW-La Crosse and Joseph White of Carthage on the track and in the field, respectively, while Emma Kelley of Washington (Mo.) and Alexis Boykin of MIT stood out for the women in those respective venues.
Each year, the USTFCCCA honors the Outstanding Performers of the Championships at both the NCAA DIII Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Winners are determined using a formula that adds together team points scored, plus meet records (five additional points), Division III seasonal bests (three additional points) and facility records (one point). Relay points, if applicable, are split equally among the four team members.
Blaskowski, the Most Outstanding Men’s Track Performer of the Championships, totaled 28.75 points using the above formula. He completed the 100-200 double and was part of the winning 4×100 relay team (22.5 points), notched a 200-meter seasonal best of 20.55 (three), set facility records in both the 100 and 200 (two) and the 4×100 relay set a meet record of 39.82 (1.25).
White, the Most Outstanding Men’s Field Performer of the Championships, totaled 16 points using the above formula. He won the shot put (ten) and finished third in the discus (six).
Kelley, the Most Outstanding Women’s Track Performer of the Championships, totaled 26.5 points using the above formula. She won both the 400 and 800, and anchored the Bears to victory in the 4×400 (22.5), set a seasonal best in the 400 of 53.76 (three) and registered a facility record in the 800 with her 2:06.02 winner (one).
Boykin, the Most Outstanding Women’s Field Performer of the Championships, totaled 34 points using the above formula. She made history in sweeping the shot put and hammer, in addition to a runner-up finish in the discus (28) and topped the year-end Descending Order List in both the shot put at 15.44m (50-8) and hammer at 62.50m (205-0) (six).
