2024 NAIA Cross Country National Awards

NEW ORLEANS – National Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2024 NAIA Cross Country season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the national championship meet.

Awards were voted on by member coaches based on results from both the 2024 NAIA Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri, and during the regular season.

National Men's Coach of the Year

Dominic Bolin was named the 2024 NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Coach of the Year. Bolin coached College of Idaho to the team title at the 2024 NAIA Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri. Led by individual sixth-place finisher Daniel Butler, the Coyotes scored 87 points to win by nine points as two other runners finished in the top-13. Earlier this season, College of Idaho also won team titles at the Cascade Conference Championships with 24 points, Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic with 31 points, Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational with 43 points and Cascade Conference Preview with 31 points.

National Women's Athlete of the Year

Jaynie Halterman was named the 2024 NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Athlete of the Year. Halterman, who hails from Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, captured the individual title at the 2024 NAIA Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri. The Taylor (Ind.) star cross the finish line in 20:24.7, more than 20 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Halterman was undefeated in six meets this season, adding titles at the Crossroads League Championships, NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, Ray Bullock Invitational, Gans Creek Classic and IWU Twilight Invitational.

National Men's Athlete of the Year

Evert Silva was named the 2024 NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Athlete of the Year. Silva, who hails from Fresno, California, captured the individual title at the 2024 NAIA Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri. The Oklahoma City star crossed the finish line in 23:14.0,more than 30 seconds faster than the runner-up. Earlier this season, Silva also won the individual title at the Sooner Conference Championships and was runner-up at the Gans Creek Classic.

National Women's Coach of the Year

Daniel Rush was named the 2024 NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Coach of the Year. Rush coached The Master’s (Calif.) to the team title at the 2024 NAIA Cross Country Championships this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri. Led by individual runner-up Hannah Fredericks, the Mustangs scored 92 points to win by one point as The Master’s had two other runners in the top-9. Earlier this season, The Master’s also won team titles at the GSAC Championships with 17 points, Larry Young Invitational with 23 points and Biola Invitational with 29 points.
