Steve Jones of Grand Valley State was named the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Assistant Coach of the Year. Jones, in his 17th year as assistant coach at Grand Valley State, coached the Lakers’ high jumpers to a 1-2-3-6 finish at the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Championships as five of his athletes competed, plus one in the long jump. His high jumpers were led by Eli Kosiba, who equaled the DII record of 2.30m (7-6½) this season, and Jaivon Harrison, who is No. =9 all-time DII at 2.23m (7-3¾).
