NJCAA Rankings Central

Let’s get this out of the way first: Iowa Central and Central Arizona are still the top-ranked teams in the men’s and women’s rankings, respectively. Nothing shifted in that regard over the past seven days.

Outside of that, however, is where the real fun begins.

QUICK LINKS: Men’s Rankings | Women’s Rankings

Starting with the men’s rankings, the Tritons are still overwhelming favorites and own a 152.32-point advantage over their closest competitor (759.95 to 607.63). But Iowa Central and 20th-ranked Monroe are the only teams to have retained their spot from the previous week.

Jumping two spots to settle in behind the Tritons is South Plains, replacing Barton County (522.30 points), the previous No. 2. Also soaring two spots is Butler (Kan.) to No. 4 from No. 6, while the Central Arizona men fell from No. 3 to No. 5.

Iowa Western was one of four men’s teams to climb more than six places after going from No. 13 to No. 6. The others were Allen CC (No. 21 to No. 11), Hinds CC (No. 24 to No. 15) and Cowley County CC (No. 30 to No. 22).

In the women’s rankings, the Vaqueras’ lead has been slimmed down to 40.05 points by Iowa Central. In fact, the second-ranked Tritons, third-ranked New Mexico JC and fourth-ranked South Plains all gained more than 60 points. Fifth-ranked Barton County added 55.55 points to its weekly total.

Butler (Kan.) and Iowa Western both rejoined the top-10 at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.

The biggest mover in the women’s rankings was Allen CC, jumping from No. 32 to No. 21.

Stay tuned throughout the season as we find out the teams to beat come May 17-19 at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Levelland, Kansas.
