Cross Country Polls & Rankings
We saw a top-5 matchup between No. 1 Iowa Central CC and former No. 5 Iowa Western CC at the Indian Hills CC Invitational this past weekend. While the Reivers – led by another individual title by three-time National Athlete of the Week Faith Linga – soundly beat the Tritons by 39 points, it didn’t knock them from their perch since they were without several top runners. Iowa Western CC did get a small boost from that victory, going from No. 5 to No. 4.
Cloud County CC made the biggest jump of the week thanks to its performance at the UNK Invitational this past weekend. The T-Birds, led by a third-place finish by former National Athlete of the Week Patricia Koma, ended up a narrow runner-up to NCAA Division II Nebraska Kearney. Cloud County CC put five runners in the top-11, but couldn’t make up any ground after the hosts took the top-2 places individually.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 4: No. 6 Hutchinson (Kan.) CC, No. 7 Dodge City (Kan.) CC, No. 8 Ranger (Texas) College, No. 9 Vincennes, No. 10 Butler (Kan.) CC.
There was one new addition to the poll this week: Indian Hills (Iowa) CC is now ranked No. 14.
Remember: The 2020 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 14 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
