

2022 NCAA DII Men’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 5
NEW ORLEANS – Conference Championships Weekend is upon us!
Here is the newest edition of the NCAA Division II Men’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI for the 2022 season, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. No marks from previous seasons have been used, which means this objective list is compiled solely of current marks from the 2022 indoor track & field season.

Pittsburg State held on to the No. 1 ranking for a second straight week. Mason Strader turned in a big mark at the Arkansas Qualifier this past weekend, running 3:58.47 in the mile to move him to No. 2 nationally. The Gorillas have 11 national top-10 marks this season and eight of those sit among the top-5, including the nation’s fastest 4×400 relay (3:11.51).
Grand Valley State jumped one spot to No. 2 in Week 5. The Lakers have 12 national top-10 efforts this season, and received an improved effort by Matt Thomas in the shot put. His toss of 17.80m (58-4¾) is ranked No. 10 on the Descending Order List.
Colorado School of Mines slid one spot to No. 3. The Orediggers hauled in 10 national top-10 marks this season, with four of them coming from the 5000 and three in the 3000. Dillon Powell paces the team with his NCAA DII record in the 5000 of 13:33.68 and is fourth nationally in the 3000.
Ashland remained at No. 4 in Week 5. Of the Eagles’ nine national top-10 performances, Trevor Bassitt has a hand in five of them. He is the national leader in the 60H (7.75), 200 (20.75) and 400 (46.08), and is ranked fifth in the 50 (6.71) and part of the second-ranked 4×400 relay (3:12.08).
West Texas A&M climbed one spot to No. 5 to round out this week’s top teams. The biggest mark this past weekend came from Sifiso Miya, who bounded 15.47m (50-9¼) in the triple jump to move to No. 5 on the national list. The Buffalos have eight national top-10 marks, including the national lead by Benjamin Azamati in the 60 at 6.56c (6.54A) that broke the NCAA DII record earlier this year.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 5: No. 6 American International, No. 7 Central Missouri, No. 8 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 9 Lee (Tenn.) and No. 10 Adams State.
