
Alexis Brown of Lenoir-Rhyne was named the 2025 NCAA Division II Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. Brown, who hails from Mableton, Georgia, obliterated a longstanding NCAA DII record in the 200 meters at the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Championships. It was in the prelims, where Brown turned one lap in 22.98 to become the first woman in NCAA DII history to go sub-23 seconds. Then, Brown improved that mark to 22.28 in winning the final. Earlier in the meet, Brown finished runner-up in the 60 meters with a PR 7.18. Brown also starred at the SAC Indoor Championships, where she completed the 60-200 double.
