Alicia Monson of Wisconsin was named the Women’s Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country season. Monson, a senior with a 3.25 GPA in nutritional sciences, finished runner-up at the 2019 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, this past November. She becomes just the second woman in Big Ten Conference history to earn this honor, joining Angel Bizzarri of Illinois, who captured the award exactly 10 years ago.
