Bunyard, a sophomore from Columbia, Maryland, was named National Men’s Field Athlete of the Year. He scored 38 points in field events at the 2021 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, with victories in both the decathlon (5476) and javelin (42.66m/140-0) and third-place efforts in the discus, long jump and shot put. During the regular season, his name was all over the Descending Order List and he put up 5908 points in an early April.
