Romain Legendre of Adams State was named the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Indoor Track & Field National Athlete of the Year. Legendre, who hails from Carpentras, France, put a bow on a record-breaking season with a distance sweep at the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Championships. He won both the 3000 meters and 5000 meters in meet-record efforts. Earlier in the season, Legendre demonstrated his prowess in those events as he shattered NCAA DII records in both – and etched his name amongst the best in collegiate history – with his 7:36.28 and 13:02.08 clockings.
