Trevor Bassitt, Ashland: 2022 NCAA Division II Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year

Trevor Bassitt was named the National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Bassitt, who hails from Bluffton, Ohio, won the national title in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 48.98, which cemented his spot as the No. 4 performer in divisional history. He also anchored Ashland to a fourth-place finish in the 4×400 relay. Bassitt went undefeated in the 400H this season with other victories in the elite section of the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays over a field of professional athletes as well as the Northeast Ohio Quad.
