Denisha Cartwright was named the National Women’s Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Cartwright, who hails from Nassau, Bahamas, earned four First-Team All-America honors at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships behind a victory in the 100-meter hurdles, a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters, a seventh-place finish in the 100 meters and a carry on the winning 4×100 relay. Earlier in the season, Cartwright scored 28.5 points at the NSIC Outdoor Championships thanks to winning the 100H, helping out the first-place 4×100 relay, and taking runner-up honors in both the 100 meters and 200 meters.
