ALAMOSA, Colo.– The nation’s top-ranked Adams State College men won eight of the 11 events while their female counterparts, the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, came from as many as eight points behind to win as the Grizzly indoor track and field teams retained possession of the Green & Red Shootout trophy with a combined 97-73 win over arch-rival Western State College in the second annual meet sponsored by The Cline Agency, Thursday evening in the Plachy Hall Fieldhouse.

The unique fan-friendly meet lasted just over two hours and pitted the Grizzlies against the rival Mountaineers in a head-to-head action. Only one event was contested at a time, allowing approximately 500 fans to cheer on the elite athletes from two of the nation’s top track and field programs.

Each of the field events included just one athlete from each team.
