No Changes to Men’s Division II XC Top Five

NEW ORLEANS (September 16, 2009) – Adams State remained the No. 1 team in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Men’s Cross Country Top 25 Coaches’ Poll as did the rest of the men’s top five, the USTFCCCA announced Wednesday. In fact only two teams in the top 15 this week were different in the preseason rankings.
Adams State tops the rankings for the second straight poll after running in the Joe Vigil Invite back on September 5. The Grizzlies will next be in action at Colorado State for the Colorado State Classic on September 18.
Following Adams State is rival Western State at No. 2. Western was also idle over the weekend after running in the Joe Vigil Invite. Western hosts the Mountaineer Open on September 26. Chico State remains the third ranked team in the country followed by Abilene Christian at No. 4.
Chico opened its season over the weekend in Irvine, California for the UC Irvine/Asics Invitational. Chico finished first overall as a team dominating the meet with 36 total points.
Grand Valley State completes the men’s top five. The Lakers were idle this past weekend but return to action on Saturday for the Michigan State Spartan Invitational.
