

DIII National Cross Country Coaches Poll – Week 1
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Wednesday the week one results of the national cross country coaches’ poll for NCAA Division III. North Central’s men and Middlebury’s women remain the No. 1 teams in the nation according to the nation’s coaches.

AROUND THE POLLS
MEN
— New to the top 35 this week is No. 21 Chicago, No. 28 Johns Hopkins, and No. 35 Rowan
— Sixteen conferences are represented in the top 35, but the UAA has the most teams with six followed by the NESCAC (5) and WIAC (4)
— Largest gain of the week goes to No. 25 Rochester who jumped 10 spots from preseason ranking of 35th … Augustana (Ill.) moved eight spots to 12th from 20th and MIT gained six spots in going from 17th to 11th.
WOMEN
— Six schools are new to the top 35 this week, including No. 28 Linfield, No. 29 Rowan, No. 31 Whittier, No. 32 Oberlin, No. 34 Marywood, and tied-No. 35 Rhodes.
— Twenty conferences are represented in the top 35. The NESCAC leads them all with four schools in the top 35.
— St. Olaf gained nine spots as the largest gainer of the week, going from 25th to 16th.
