NCAA Championships News — November 2011

The following appears as official correspondence from the NCAA in regards to their championships. Included in this edition is the release of the Division II Cross Country Championship field.

Division I

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country

  • Online results reporting system Now Available – Teams desiring to be considered for at-large selection must submit results (refer to Pre-Championship manual for more information).
  • Finals Site Participant Manual Now Available – The manual contains key information for teams and individuals advancing to the national championships.
  • Box draws for regional competition now available (refer to regional host web pages).
  • November 13, no later than 7:00 p.m. Eastern time: National championships selections announcement (Men / Women).

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field – Indoor

  • Altitude Adjustments, Final Qualifying Meet Application, Qualifying Criteria and Automatic Qualifying Standards Now Available.
  • December 1: Pre-Championship Manual Available – The manual will contain policies and procedures governing the administration of the championships.
  • Deadline – December 1: Application to host a final qualifying competition due.
  • Deadline – Prior to entering first competition of the season: Submit roster of eligible student-athletes (TFRRS login required).  A 2012 indoor eligibility year must be added for each existing student-athlete on the roster.  Do not add a duplicate if a student-athlete is already on the roster from a past season.

Division II

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field – Indoor

  • December 1: Pre-Championship Manual Available – The manual will contain policies and procedures governing the administration of the championships.

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field – Indoor and Outdoor

  • Championships Format: Important information concerning changes to the 2012 indoor and outdoor track and field championships now available.
  • Altitude Adjustments, Qualifying Criteria, Final Qualifying Meet Application (Indoor only), and Track Indexing Adjstments (Indoor only) Now Available.
  • Event Changes for 2012 (Indoor Only): 60 hurdles and 60 meters replace the 55 meters and the men’s heptathlon replaces the pentathlon.
  • December 1: Pre-Championship Manual Available – The manual will contain policies and procedures governing the administration of the championships.
  • Deadline – December 1: Application to host a final qualifying competition due.
