NEW ORLEANS — With just 4 weekends between now and the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, the top of the NCAA Division I Women’s Team Rankings – as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday – could not be much closer.
Texas A&M held onto the top spot for the 3rd-consecutive week, but Oregon gained ground in terms of points this week after a weekend off by the Aggies as the Ducks are a meager 3.41 points behind the lead.

A pair of Ducks gave Oregon the boost it needed to creep ever so closer to the Aggies, as Katie Rainsberger and Jessica Hull posted top-10 descending order list marks in the 1500 meters at the Oregon Twilight last week. Rainsberger recorded the 4th-fastest time in the nation this year with a time of 4:11.53, while Hull’s finish of 4:13.48 sits 10th on the list.
Other than Oregon, it was a relatively quiet week with conference championships on the horizon. Despite this fact, there was still other movement in the top-10 on the week.
Making a charge of its own was Southern California, who moved from 5th to 3rd this week, bumping LSU and Arkansas down to 4th and 5th, respectively. The Trojans saw a boost in the rankings after seeing Lyndsey Lopes take 3rd in the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Multi-Events Championships.
The Tigers took the week off, while the Razorbacks hosted their own Twilight meet that saw a handful of solid performances. Twin pole vaulters Tori and Lexi Weeks posted matching pole vault marks of 4.55m (14-11), good for 2nd on the descending order list.
