

2021 NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country All-Academic Athletes
NEW ORLEANS – The Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Athletes for the 2021 NCAA Division II Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Isaac Harding of Grand Valley State was named the Men’s Scholar Athlete of the Year for the 2021 NCAA Division II Cross Country season. Harding, a graduate student from Grand Rapids, Michigan, who majors in Physical Therapy, won the individual title at the 2021 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Saint Leo, Florida. He is the first male athlete from Grand Valley State to be named Scholar Athlete of the Year in cross country, indoor track & field or outdoor track & field.
Overall, there were 275 men from 98 different institutions who were named All-Academic Athletes for their efforts during the 2021 season.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
