REGIONAL RANKINGS – SUMMARY PDF
REGIONAL RANKINGS – ALL TIME WEEK BY WEEK
Let’s take a look at what changed from the preseason to Week 1.
QUICK LINKS: Men’s Rankings | Women’s Rankings
For those who don’t know or need a refresher, the USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams’ strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining finishing order at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Atlantic Region
There was only one change to either top-5.
The men’s side still sees SUNY Geneseo lead the way with RPI, TCNJ, Rowan and SUNY Oneonta trailing.
The women’s billing has SUNY Geneseo on top, followed by Ithaca, RPI and St. Lawrence, with Rochester (N.Y.) taking up residence at No. 5.
Central Region
Loras and St. Olaf are still No. 1 and No. 2 in the men’s ranking, while Wartburg jumped four spots to No. 3. Nebraska Wesleyan is at No. 4 and Carleton dropped from No. 4 to No. 5.
Over in the women’s ranking, the only change to the top-5 was Grinnell moving up one spot from No. 6 to No. 5. St. Olaf, St. Thomas (Minn.), Carleton and Wartburg are the top-4.
Great Lakes Region
Big jumps highlighted the men’s ranking as Albion soared from No. 7 to No. 3 and Otterbein climbed from No. 9 to No. 4. Trine went from unranked to No. 5. Calvin and Ohio Northern still sit No. 1 and No. 2.
Calvin remains No. 1 in the women’s ranking, but Hope (previously No. 3), Otterbein (previously No. 4) and Kenyon (previously No. 8) come in at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Previous No. 2 Oberlin fell to No. 5.
Mideast Region
The men of Johns Hopkins are No. 1, followed by Haverford, Carnegie Mellon and Dickinson once again. Elizabethtown jumped into the top-5 at No. 5.
The women of Johns Hopkins probably won’t be moving from the top spot in the region for a while, but the new No. 2 team is Dickinson. Elizabethtown, Haverford and Waynesburg round out the top-5.
Midwest Region
There were no changes to the top-5 of the men’s billing, while Chicago (previously No. 3, now No. 2) and UW-La Crosse (previously No. 2, now No. 3) swapped spots in the women’s rankings and St. Norbert joined the top-5.
New England Region
The only change to the top-5 of the rankings was the Tufts women falling out of a third-place tie with Middlebury. The Jumbos are now at No. 4.
South/Southeast Region
The men’s rankings see Christopher Newport remain at No. 1 and Emory at No. 2. Rhodes is the new No. 3 and Washington and Lee dropped to No. 4, while Trinity (Texas) remained at No. 5.
The women of Emory remained No. 1, while Rhodes came in at No. 2 and Washington and Lee fell to No. 3. Christopher Newport and Trinity (Texas) rounded out the top-5.
West Region
No changes occurred in the men’s ranking.
There’s a new No. 1 in the women’s ranking as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps takes over the top spot from Whitworth. Occidental remained No. 3, while Linfield climbed from No. 7 to No. 4. The last team in the top-5 is Pomona-Pitzer.
