Colorado School of Mines jumped eight spots to come in as the top team in this week’s National TFRI. The Orediggers turned in six top-6 nationally ranked efforts at the Mines Pre-Conference Invite. The biggest point boost came in the 10,000 thanks to a 2-3-4 punch on the Descending Order List. Kyle Moran leads the trio with his No. 2 billing (28:54.57/30:04.39A), followed by Dylan Ko at No. 3 (28:56.15/30:06.03A) and Dillon Powell at No. 4 (28:59.85/30:09.88A). Other strong performances for the Orediggers came from Luke Julian in the 1500 (No. 5, 3:43.85c/3:50.02A), Jacob Mitchem in the steeple (No. 5, 8:51.98c/9:08.77A) and Grant Redmond in the high jump (No. 6, 2.12m/6-11½).

Ashland held steady at No. 2 for the second straight week. Alex Hill posted an improved No. 2 effort in the hammer of 69.96m (229-7), which makes him the seventh-best performer all-time in NCAA DII history. The Eagles also picked up a big season best effort from Noah Koch in the discus. Koch moved from No. 16 to No. 6 on the Descending Order List with his throw of 55.41m (181-10).

No. 3 Angelo State and No. 4 West Texas A&M traded places since Week 4. The Rams had impressive outings from Decio Andrade and Devoux Deysel that moved them up on the NCAA DII all-time lists in their respective events. Andrade became the third best performer all-time in the hammer throw after turning in a mark of 71.82m (235-8) to extend his national lead. Deysel had a heave of 75.30m (247-1) in the javelin to improve his No. 2 ranking on the Descending Order List and is now the sixth-best performer on the all-time chart. Another top performer for the Rams this past weekend was Gianluca Tamberi, posting an effort of 71.07m (233-2) in the javelin that moved him up to No. 3 on the national list.

The Buffs received an improved nationally ranked effort from Jahmaal Wilson, who clocked the seventh-fastest time in the 110H of 14.08.

No. 5 Grand Valley State will round out this week’s top-5 teams. The Lakers’ 4×400 relay of Jaylen Hasan, Jackson Blanchard, Myles Rhodes and Daniel Walker ran 3:10.65 at the Knights Invite in Orlando, Florida. That time is also ranked third on the national list.

Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 4: No. 6 Pittsburg State, No. 7 Missouri Southern, No. 8 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 9 Tiffin and No. 10 Central Missouri.
