As the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season heads into the final month and post-season competition starts to ramp up, let’s take a look at the most recent installment of the NCAA Division II Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

No. 1 Grand Valley State jumped four spots back into the driver’s seat. The Lakers’ haul came in the 5000 from the trio of Isaac Harding (No. 1, 13:43.97), Enael Woldemichael (No. 4, 13:47.08) and Tanner Chada (No. 6, 13:47.99) with their performances at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet. Mules Kerner also cracked the top-10 in the shot put to land at No. 9 (18.17m/59-7½).
Ashland held steady at No. 2 for the third straight week. The Eagles sent a small contingent to the Hillsdale Outdoor Tune-Up, where season best efforts in the discus came from Noah Koch (No. 6, 56.03m/183-10) and Alex Hill (No. 7, 55.40m/181-9).
No. 3 Colorado School of Mines, No. 4 Angelo State and No. 5 West Texas A&M round out this week’s National TFRI. The Orediggers added another top-5 performance to its season collection, as Hayden Sather scored 7146 points in the decathlon en route to winning the event at the RMAC Championships. That is the fifth-best score on the Descending Order List.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 6: No. 6 Pittsburg State, No. 7 Texas A&M-Commerce, No. 8 Central Missouri, No. 9 Missouri Southern and No. 10 UC-Colorado Springs.
The 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set for May 27-29 in Allendale, Michigan, hosted by Grand Valley State.
