2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field All-America
NEW ORLEANS — All-America honors for the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and as part of a relay team at the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Gulf Shores, Alabama, took home honors.
To no one’s surprise, Indiana Tech‘s women earned the most All-American honors for any program with 21 after running away with the team crown at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. The Warriors won by 19 points and captured their third outdoor national title in program history.
Meanwhile, the co-champions on the men’s side (both of whom took home their first outdoor national titles in program history) – Doane (Neb.) and Madonna (Mich.) – were not as close in this compilation. The Tigers led all men’s programs with 15 All-American honors, while Madonna earned six and maximized their scoring chances.
Other leading women’s programs with double-digit selections were Concordia (Neb.) with 19, William Carey (Miss.) with 16, Wayland Baptist (Texas) with 15, Marian (Ind.) and Southeastern (Fla.) with 12 and Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) with 11.
Following Doane with most selections among the men’s teams were Saint Mary (Kan.) with 13 and Indiana Tech with 10.
Individually, 10 athletes had three or more All-America honors — but none more than Erin Oleksak of Marian (Ind.) with four. Oleskak was second in the high jump, seventh in the 100 hurdles and ran on a pair of scoring relay teams (4×100, which was eighth, and 4×400, which was fifth).
Here were the other nine athletes who earned a trio of All-America certificates: Joy Abu of William Carey, Jacqual Bush of Southeastern (Fla.), Aniekeme Etim of William Carey, Soyinne Grenyion of Indiana Tech, Fredericka McKenzie of William Carey and Adrianna Shaw of Concordia (Neb.) on the women’s side; Ineh Emmanuel of William Carey, Dylan Kucera of Midland (Neb.) and Senzo Sokhela of Westmont (Calif.) on the men’s side.
