

NAIA All-Americans For 2017 Outdoor T&F Season
NEW ORLEANS – All-America honors for the 2017 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field season were announced Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-8 in their events – including as a member of a relay team – at this past weekend’s NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Team titles in The Yellowhammer State went to the British Columbia men and the Wayland Baptist (Texas) women. The Thunderbirds scored 7 more points than runner-up Indiana Tech to claim their 1st title in program history, while the Pioneers ran away with their 2nd crown in the past three years.
Indiana Tech had the most All-America honors out of any men’s team with 22. Trevor Stanley led the Warriors with three All-America performances in the 200, 110 hurdles and 4×100 relay.
British Columbia had athletes total 15 All-America honors with three coming in the 5000. Lukas Jarron matched Stanley with three nods and two other athletes hauled in two for the champion Thunderbirds.
Wayland Baptist (Texas) matched Indiana Tech’s output with 22 All-America honors. The Pioneers had 10 women earn two All-America honors, while Jackline Cherono and Patrice Daniels were honored alone for their efforts in the 10,000 meters and as part of the 4×800 relay, respectively.
The women of Indiana Tech had the 2nd most honors for their gender with 16.
