Indiana Tech remains at No. 1 for the third consecutive week. Last weekend at the Anderson Indoor Invite, Victor Rodriguez finished first in the pole vault, clearing 4.75m (15-7). Rodriguez’s mark is the NAIA’s fifth-best this season and gives the Warriors 13 national top-10 marks. Daunte O’Bannion’s effort in the 400 (47.48) and Coby Bailey’s time in the 60-meter hurdles (7.94) stayed as the No. 1 performances nationally. Along with Bailey, Collins Mokuah has the No. 4 time and Ahumad Williams has the No. 5 time in the 60H.
Grand View (Iowa) held steady in second for the second week in a row. Carter Huyser and Isaiah Wittrock lead the team with three top-10 marks apiece. Huyser has the No. 9 800 (1:55.45) and No. 4 1000 (2:29.91), while Wittrock has the No. 3 1000 (2:28.49) and No. 7 mile (4:15.88). Dordt (Iowa) remained in the same position – just like the previous two teams – coming in at No. 3. The Defenders still have 11 top-10 marks. Payton Mauldin is the only runner for Dordt with a trio of top-10 marks. Individually, Mauldin is No. 2 in the 600 (1:18.37), No. 5 in the open 800 (1:52.66), No. 7 in the 1000 (2:30.27) and is part of the team’s second-ranked 4×800 (7:53.73) squad.
Grace (Ind.) moved up one spot from last week. The Lancers have nine top-10 marks with six of the nine ranking in the top-5. Kyle Smith ran a No. 4 600 (1:20.57) at the IWU Midwest Classic. This gives Smith a pair of No. 4 marks as his 800 (1:52.40) is also ranked fourth. The team’s highest mark continues to be Isaac Brown’s high jump (2.10m/6-10¾), that ranks second-best in the country.
Friends (Kan.) makes their first appearance in the top-5 this season after moving up one spot. The Falcons have garnered 10 top-10 marks. Emad Bashir-Mohammed holds a pair of top-10 times thanks to earning the 10th best mile over the weekend at the Concordia Classic with a time of 4:17.51 (Bashir-Mohammed also ranks No. 5 in the 3000-meter (8:20.18), which he achieved the weekend prior). The team’s best mark comes from Marcquiece Cade who’s No. 3 in the heptathlon with 4974 points.
Here are the remaining top-10 teams in Week 3: No. 6 Huntington (Ind.), No. 7 Southeastern (Fla.), No. 8 Marian (Ind.), No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan and No. 10 Saint Mary (Kan.).
