2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country All-America
NEW ORLEANS — All-America honors for the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country season were announced on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Athletes from member institutions earned All-America recognition by finishing among the top-40 athletes in their gender’s respective races this past weekend at the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
For the second year in a row, team titles went to both Northern Arizona’s men and NC State’s women. It was the Lumberjacks’ sixth crown in the past seven years, while the Wolfpack became the first women’s program to go back-to-back since Villanova in 2009 and 2010. NAU needed a tiebreaker to beat Oklahoma State for top honors on the men’s side, as that was the first time it ever happened in meet history.
NAU (and Oklahoma State) and NC State were among the most honored programs. Both the national champion Lumberjacks and national runner-up Cowboys hauled in five All-America plaudits each, while the Wolfpack tied for the second-most among women’s programs with Alabama (New Mexico took the All-America crown on the women’s side with five).
No conference had more All-America athletes than the ACC with 14, while the Pac-12 was right behind with 12. Finishing just outside of the Land of Double Digits were the Big 12 (nine) and SEC (eight).
