

2023 NCAA DI Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 2
NEW ORLEANS – Business is starting to pick up.
Here is the second release of the NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor Track & Field National TFRI, as released on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). No marks from previous seasons have been used, which means this objective list is compiled solely of current qualifying marks from the 2023 indoor track & field season.

Arkansas soared 10 spots into the driver’s seat in Week 2 after turning in nine new or improved national top-10 marks at the Razorback Invitational. Amanda Fassold soared into the national lead in the pole vault with her clearance of 4.45m (14-7¼) and the Razorbacks’ 4×400 meter relay clocked 3:26.40 for the fastest time in the country. The quartet also got the job done in the open 400 meters. Amber Anning (No. 2, 51.56), Nickisha Pryce (No. 3, 51.97), Rosey Effiong (No. 4, 52.04) and Paris Peoples (No. 5, 52.06) all rank in the top-5 nationally.
Florida moved up three spots to No. 2. The Gators added or improved seven national top-10 marks at the Razorback Invitational. Talitha Diggs has a hand in three of those efforts after taking over the national lead in the 400 meters (51.34), clocking the third-best time in the 200 meters (23.18), and toting the baton on the Gators’ second-ranked 4×400 meter relay (3:27.58). Jasmine Moore also soared to the year’s second-best long jump (6.64m/21-9½).
Texas fell two spots to No. 3. The Longhorns only had two new or improved national top-10 marks, but made those two efforts count as. Valery Tobias and Kristine Blazevica are ranked No. 2 in their respective events: Tobias clocked 2:02.25 in the 800 meters; Blazevica scored 4,224 points in the pentathlon.
Alabama held steady at No. 4. The Crimson Tide picked up two new or improved national top-10 marks: Flomena Asekol is ranked No. 10 in the 800 meters (2:04.42); Chelsea Igberaese is ranked No. 2 in the weight throw (23.56m/77-3¾).
Oregon jumped nine spots into the No. 5 spot after gaining five new or improved national top-10 marks. Jorinde Van Klinken improved her national lead in the shot put with a season’s best 18.55m (60-10½) at the Texas Tech Open. Lexi Ellis registered a top-5 performance in the triple jump, while Jadyn Mays is ranked eighth in both the 60 meters and 200 meters.

Mark your calendars for March 10-11, as that’s when the 2023 NCAA DI Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
