

2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Awards
National Men's Coach of the Year

The tandem of Mallory Dominguez and Floyd Turner was named National Men’s Coach of the Year for the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Taking over in March as interim Co-Head Coaches at College of DuPage (Ill.), the two led the Chaparrals to a fourth-straight team title at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. DuPage won nine events and racked up 206 points to win the meet by 76 points.
National Women's Field Athlete of the Year

Kara Knorr was named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year. Knorr, who hails from Woodstown, New Jersey, scored 38 points in field events at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. It was in Utica, New York, where Knorr won three of the throwing events in which she competed and placed runner-up in the fourth. Her victories came in the hammer throw, javelin throw and shot put. Knorr sets PRs in both the discus throw and hammer throw at the climactic meet of the season.
National Men's Field Athlete of the Year

Trenton Braswell was named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Field Athlete of the Year. Braswell, who hails from Marble Hill, Missouri, dominated the throwing events all season along, culminating in a clean sweep at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He won all four throwing events in Utica, New York: discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw and shot put.
National Women's Track Athlete of the Year

Lilly Alberts was named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. Alberts, who hails from Richmond, Illinois, left her mark throughout the season – but especially at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. It was in Utica, New York, where Alberts set meet records in both the 400 and 800 meters at 55.85 and 2:13.78, respectively. Alberts also anchored Harper’s 4×800 relay to victory in 56.17. She entered the meet as the national leader in the 400 (56.09), 800 (2:10.81) and 1500 meters (4:40.25). She only lost one race this outdoor season, which came in a meet against runners from all collegiate divisions. Albert was named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week twice this season (April 2 and April 29).
National Men's Track Athlete of the Year

Noah Mack was named the 2024 NJCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. Mack, who hails from Elgin, Illinois, scored 22.5 points at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships thanks to a clean sweep of the 100 and 200 meters, as well as strong legs on the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relays. The College of DuPage star did it all on the meet’s final day as his efforts were highlighted by a 100-meter PR of 10.59 and a 48.06 split on the 4×400 relay.
National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year

Kenny Brown was named the National Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Brown, in his second year as assistant coach of sprints and hurdles at College of DuPage (Ill.), coached the Chaparrals to victories in the 100, 200, 400 hurdles and 4×100 relay at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His athletes added three runner-up finishes, two of which completed 1-2 sweeps in the 100 and 200.
National Men's Assistant Coach of the Year

Jim Akins was named the National Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Akins, in his third year as assistant coach of throws at Mineral Area (Mo.), guided Trenton Braswell to an impressive quadruple in winning all four throws at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. As a group, his throwers tallied 68 of the Cardinals’ 94 points in finishing fourth in the team standings.
National Women's Coach of the Year

Jim Macnider of Harper (Ill.) was named the National Women’s Coach of the Year for the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Macnider, in his sixth year as head coach and his 13th year overall at Harper (Ill.), led the Hawks to a repeat team title at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Hawks won seven events – including two meet records – in scoring 194 points to win the meet by 71 points.
